73 Truly Inspirational Quotes About Living In The Moment
Why You Need to Live in the Moment
The truth is, dwelling on the past doesn’t change a situation and it certainly won’t help you to move forwards. You can even go as far as to say that the past really doesn’t matter. It may well have brought you to where you are now but what you need to take from the past is the lessons and apply them to your present. That’s why you shouldn’t look back.
Nevertheless, it’s often hard to break loose from the past, especially when there are feelings associated with it. However, as long as you don’t turn those feelings into regrets and spend your time wondering what life would have been like if things had been different, you won’t get stuck a rut.
The important thing to consider is, by not letting go of the past, you could miss out on something wonderful that shapes your future!
What about the Future?
By all means look forward to the future but you can’t live your life in the future! You can make plans and have goals but actually, by constantly striving for something in the future, you will likely miss out on enjoying what you have in the present. It makes perfect sense.
Most people spend their time looking to achieve something more and always seeking out the next thing they want, person they want to be with or place they want to visit without actually focusing on what they have and where they are. Then that moment is gone and it becomes part of the past.
The most important thing you can do to enjoy your life is focus on what’s going on in it NOW. The present. What you do right now can shape your future and what you do right now won’t change your past but it will affect your present.
Remember, life is about what you’re doing now and who you’re with now not about what you might be doing later or who you might be with later. That’s why everyone should make the most of what they have now, their friends, their relationships, their lives. Forget about the past mistakes and don’t worry about what hasn’t happened yet. To enjoy your present – be present!
